2012 GMC Acadia SUV Review

GMC Acadia crossover seating eight people, a great spot for large families. GM offers side / curtain airbags, stability control, traction control, four-wheel drive anti-brake system, tire pressure monitoring and OnStar service. In any Acadia, both the second and third rows of seats fold almost flat to boost cargo storage. From 20 cubic feet with the third-row seat in the upright position, the Acadia‘s storage capacity blooms to more than 115 cubic feet when the rear two rows of seats are folded.

The 2012 GMC Acadia sits comfortably positioned near the top of the affordable midsize SUV class for solid performance, a roomy interior (including a better-than-average third row), and a muscular exterior with a hint of aggression. The Toyota Highlander Hybrid will return better fuel economy, rated at 28 mpg city and highway. There are five trims for the 2012 Acadia: SL, SLE, SLT-1, SLT-2, and the Denali. The GMC Acadia Denali trim is downright flashy with dark tinted windows and 20-inch alloy wheels. LATCH child seat connectors are included in the second row outboard seating positions. The fact that a rearview camera is standard on all models above the base significantly increases the Acadias safety profile. While the 2012 GMC Acadia isnt cheap, you do get what you pay for with this vehicle. Its large, roomy, and well-appointed with a solid safety profile.

2011 GMC Yukon XL Review

GMC Yukon XL
GMC Yukon XL
The 2011 GMC Yukon XL is an excellent choice for large families who need a full-size SUV with maximum seating, towing and cargo capacities. The 2011 GMC Yukon receives only minor feature updates. Other options (depending on trim) include 20- and 22-inch wheels, a sunroof, a navigation system, a side blind-zone alert system, second-row captain’s chairs and a rear-seat entertainment system. Three V8s see duty in the GMC Yukon XL. Properly equipped, a Yukon XL 2500 can tow up to 9,600 pounds.

The GMC Yukon XL cavernous cabin also offers plenty of cargo room, with nearly 49 cubic feet of room behind the third-row and a whopping 137.4 cubic feet with the third-row seats removed and the second-row seats folded.

The GMC Yukon XL suspension also offers a comfortable ride quality that, combined with the relatively quiet interior, makes the GMC Yukon XL a fine road trip machine.

The 2011 GMC Yukon XL is virtually the same vehicle in most respects to the GMC Yukon; the only difference and what the XL stands for is that its an extended-length version. The GMC Yukon XL adds about 20 inches of overall length and 14 inches of wheelbase, which is useful in some respects and not so much in others. The 2011 GMC Yukon receives only minor feature updates.

The 2011 GMC Yukon XL full-size SUV is available in 1500 and heavy-duty 2500 models, which are available in three trim levels: SLE, SLT and Denali (1500 only).

The top-shelf Denali gains unique styling touches that include lower body cladding and a unique grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, a power lift gate, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats with a power-folding feature, a larger display for the rearview camera, a navigation system and a 10-speaker Bose surround-sound audio system.

Other options include 20- and 22-inch wheels, a sunroof, a navigation system, a side blind-zone alert system, second-row captains chairs and a rear-seat entertainment system. Three V8s see duty in the GMC Yukon XL. The GMC Yukon XL Denali features a more powerful 6.2-liter V8 thats rated at 403 hp and 417 lb-ft of torque. Properly equipped, a Yukon XL 2500 can tow up to 9,600 pounds.

Arguably the strongest selling point for the 2011 GMC Yukon XL is an interior that offers seating for up to nine passengers, a number bested only by full-size vans. The three-person third-row seat is standard.

The GMC Yukon XL cavernous cabin also offers plenty of cargo room, with nearly 49 cubic feet of room behind the third-row and a whopping 137.4 cubic feet with the third-row seats removed and the second-row seats folded.

With its big V8, the 2011 GMC Yukon XL models feel fairly quick for such a big vehicle. The GMC Yukon XL suspension also offers a comfortable ride quality that, combined with the relatively quiet interior, makes the GMC Yukon XL a fine road trip machine.

2012 GMC Terrain

GMC Terrain
GMC Terrain
Summary
Terrain is one of the junior member of the GMC family, smaller than the second crossover (Acadia others). GMC Terrain coming back for Model Year 2012 with minor changes. 2012 Terrain to get a little change but the important bit, the GMC Terrain 2012 has a higher cost of goods sold, but the buyer gets a prominent exterior, rearview camera Standard & many places passengers. The 2012 GMC Terrain is available in four trim levels: SLE-1, SLE-2, SLT-1 and SLT-2.

Interior
for a brand that is rooted in hard-working truck brokers, GMC designers have done an outstanding job of providing a classy interior with clear GMC Terrain. His style is sleek and modern, and assumes that it comes with a number of standard high-tech features, including standard interfaces, touch-screen 7-inch sound and camera view mirror. Unfortunately the number of buttons that are grouped near the dashboard may be difficult to complete a glance. What has not changed is like riding smooth and stylish interiors expensive then this is also whisper quiet thanks to generous use of acoustic insulation and high-tech noise-canceling system. The cabin also gets high marks for passenger comfort, with a space almost like a secondary crossover SUVs like the Ford Edge.

Performance
engine performance at a price. This plain is so expensive because it comes with many standard features, but check with the hope that it will tweak the GMC Terrain a four-cylinder and V6 engine options standard. Underpowered four-cylinder and a test driver even said horsepower V6 engine misleading. Based on the car, there are four-cylinder engine with direct injection 2.4-liter, 182 hp do. Luxury version has a 264-hp, 3.0-liter direct-injected V-6. Both worked together for a six-speed automatic that the experience could use some improvement over the shift points and gear at the swap itself. After digging deep into the four-cylinder engine, and you probably will find it has plenty of power for almost every need, we think V-6 is only required if you always fill the seat of the Terrain, or maxing in a six-cylinder 3500 - pound towing capacity.

Safety
2012 GMC Terrain comes standard with ABS brakes, stability and traction control, front seat side impact air bags, side curtain airbags, rearview camera and OnStar. In Edmunds brake testing, a four-cylinder Terrain to stop from 60 mph in 121 feet. A heavy V6 models run the same tasks in 127 feet. Good results both for the segment.

Competitors for consideration
Terrain is the best alternative to the Toyota RAV4 because it is more interesting, but it looks good then you will give more interior space and utilitarian features. Terrain peak RAV4 in cargo space and have something no Terrain: an additional third row can accommodate two children comfortably. Chevrolet Equinox, GMC Terrain is a sister company, and is a good choice if Terrain is outside your price range because high base price.

The 2012 GMC Terrain has a lot going for it, but the same can be spelled out for some of its competitors in the compact crossover segment. In particular, we would suggest driving back-to-back with rivals like the Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester and Toyota RAV4.
