2012 GMC Acadia SUV Review

GMC Acadia crossover seating eight people, a great spot for large families. GM offers side / curtain airbags, stability control, traction control, four-wheel drive anti-brake system, tire pressure monitoring and OnStar service. In any Acadia, both the second and third rows of seats fold almost flat to boost cargo storage. From 20 cubic feet with the third-row seat in the upright position, the Acadia‘s storage capacity blooms to more than 115 cubic feet when the rear two rows of seats are folded.

The 2012 GMC Acadia sits comfortably positioned near the top of the affordable midsize SUV class for solid performance, a roomy interior (including a better-than-average third row), and a muscular exterior with a hint of aggression. The Toyota Highlander Hybrid will return better fuel economy, rated at 28 mpg city and highway. There are five trims for the 2012 Acadia: SL, SLE, SLT-1, SLT-2, and the Denali. The GMC Acadia Denali trim is downright flashy with dark tinted windows and 20-inch alloy wheels. LATCH child seat connectors are included in the second row outboard seating positions. Keyless entry, cruise control, and interior chrome trim are also standard.

One more level, the SLT-1, nets automatic tri-zone climate control, a premium Bose audio unit, leather appointed first and second row, and heated front seats for $38,800. Sky rocket up to the top-of-the-line luxury GMC Acadia Denali for $43,900 and those front seats are heated and cooled, theres a head-up display, two panel powered sunroof, leather wrapped wheel, wood accents, and sound dampening.

The fact that a rearview camera is standard on all models above the base significantly increases the Acadias safety profile. While the 2012 GMC Acadia isnt cheap, you do get what you pay for with this vehicle. Its large, roomy, and well-appointed with a solid safety profile.

The SLE trim has all the standard features of the SL, with the addition of Bluetooth for Phone, Remote vehicle start, Power rear lift gate, Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, halogen fog lamps, rearview auto-dimming mirror, available audio system with rear seat DVD entertainment, Body color body side molding, Rearview camera, 8-way driver power seat and a 2-way front passenger power seat.

The range-topping SLT2 trim throws in a cargo package (cargo shade and cargo net), a convenience package (remote start and Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist), which are both options on the lesser two trims, driver and passenger express up and down power windows, 3-prong household- style, 115-volt power outlet, power rear lift gate, washer nozzles and heated windshield, as well as power adjustable and folding, heated outside rearview mirrors with integrated mirrors with drivers side auto-dimming and memory.

2011 GMC Yukon Hybrid SUV

011 GMC Yukon Hybrid SUV
The 2011 GMC Yukon Hybrid SUV delivers relatively good gas mileage and solid towing and hauling performance in a hybrid vehicle. A full-size SUV that seats eight passengers comfortably, the Yukon delivers solid comfort for drivers and passengers and incorporates a wide range of standard and optional features to make the ride even more pleasant.

Cruise control, power accessories, rear parking camera, sensors, and power adjustable driver’s seat ensures that the GMC Yukon hybrid is as much fun to drive as it is practical to own The 2011 Yukon Hybrid offers quiet performance in a large-sized SUV. Hefty towing power and payload capacity are the primary reasons to choose the Yukon Hybrid over competing crossover SUVs that may offer comparable gas mileage and improved handling due to their lower curb weight.

The 2011 GMC Yukon Hybrid looks much like a standard Yukon and allows about the same level of performance and comfort. From the outside—or even inside the cabin—theres very little to distinguish the GMC Yukon Hybrid models from the standard Yukon ones, save for some slight aerodynamic modifications and subtle budging. That said, theres a lot thats different about the Yukon Hybrid. There are few compromises in the Hybrid. While the price premium for the GMC Yukon Hybrid over the standard versions of the Yukon is quite steep, it nearly evens out when youre comparing Denali versions.

The addition of hybrid technology to the Yukon Denali makes the Yukon Denali Hybrid the flagship model in the GMC lineup. GMC says theYukon Hybrid can achieve up to 21 mpg around town, along with 22 mpg on the highway. Luxury upgrades for the Denali Hybrid include new 22-inch alloy wheels, heated and cooled 12-way power (front) leather seats and otherwise upgraded interior accommodations. The GMC Yukon Hybrid retails for $59,185 for a two-wheel-drive variant and $62,030 for the all-wheel-drive model, including the $950 destination charge.

Subaru XV SUV You will drive GPL

Subaru XV
Subaru XV: You will drive GPL. This year Subaru SUVs featuring the launch of the fifteenth, a good product which still has the good line from the rest of the range. Despite the competing models, Subaru is known to defend well, offering some specific elements found only in this model. The attractive image is convincing in the world and the manufacturer has now announced that the range will be expanded in the coming days. This extension is to introduce LPG-powered system between versions to choose from. Represents the option that combines gasoline and liquefied gas.

From next week at dealerships have Spanish versions available for the new version of Subaru SUVs. This option is available in versions 1.6 l and 2.0 l will now 106CV and 145CV having respectively. The performance of both engines is hardly altered while its maximum torque is slightly reduced.

All versions are equipped with four wheel drive permanent and this is a higher consumption cost than in the case of two-wheel traction. Anyway not have a high consumption despite this and despite offering a good height, superior to that of direct competitors. These levels of consumption will be increased with the new GPL. Gas capacity of 48 liters will be added to the tank 70 series. If version 1.6 its consumption is 6.5 l/100km, will now be of 8.9 l/100km and in the case of version 2.0, will be from 6.9 l/100km to 9.6 l/100km with the GPL.

If the system uses more gas, what are the advantages? Combining the LPG conventional fuel (petrol) with the liquefied gas is not to reduce fuel consumption but reduce CO2 in the case of SUVs and SUVs, for example, acquire excessive levels. Thus, the Subaru XV with the LPG system happens to have CO2 emissions of 139 g / km for the 1.6, compared with the 151 g / km for the petrol version, and the 2.0 option is passed to an emission of 160 g / km to 150 g / km.

Here in Spain the liquefied gas system is not abundant among the vehicles on our streets today, however most of the Spanish gas stations have the necessary elements for this type of fuel subminiature. In one of the territories for many years this type of system is common between users is Italy. We predict that Spain will not convince most but in Italy itself it will.

The Subaru XV will now feature an expansion of the range to be more respectful of the environment by reducing CO2 emissions. Within the Asian SUVs, we found a strong rival, the new Kia Sportage which also has very competitive prices.

2011 Volvo XC60 SUV Review

Volvo XC60
Volvo XC60
Volvo XC60 is a new small SUV crossover that competes with the above articles, such as the Lexus RX, Cadillac SRX and the Mercedes GLK. Developed by a naturally aspirated or turbocharged six-cylinder engine, the XC60 is available with a large number of securities, such as the collision warning and lane change alert.

The XC60 is a handsome machine. It has an exterior that is elegant and organic in some corners, like the S60 sedan, which was designed by the same team, but is a little more pulled the reins - and formal. Especially from the side, where a series of crosses in this class, both as a station wagon on stilts squatting or something long faux-resistant Ute’s, the design of the XC60 is smooth and consistent, with shoulders that arises almost from headlights to taillights. The great "iron brand logo and the great grill to complete the slightly sportier look."

The XC60 is immediately recognizable as a Volvo SUV thanks to your great Grill, which is similar to that used by his older brother, the XC90. Despite this similarity, the XC60 is thinner in its entirety and has some unique design elements, such as the angular lighting, more just inside the large headlights. Minimum distance to the ground is a large 9.1 inches.

XC60 3.2 and 3.2 R-Design models are powered by a 3.2 liter six-cylinder in line, 240 HP and 236 lb-ft of torque. Volvo also offers a version of these elegant PZEV emission certification requirements, but it is rated at 230 horsepower. Front-wheel drive is standard, and the four wheel drive is optional.

The T6 in all drive wheels and T6 R-Design models get a 3.0 liter turbocharged six-cylinder in line of maximum power to 300 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. All have an automatic XC60s of six-speed manual shift control. In Edmunds testing, one year XC60 T6 last is the least powerful engine sprint from zero to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds that is a good song for this segment. Estimated EPA fuel economy it is a solid 18 mpg city/25 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined for the XC60 3.2 FWD, while the T6 model is reduced to a less impressive 17/22/19.

The 2011 Volvo XC60 has impressive ratings in crash tests, along with a robust set of features of high technology that would only serve to help prevent an accident in the first place. One of these features for the first time in the XC60 is characteristic of City Safety, an object or a person on the road can identify and lead to a complete stop at a speed of up to 9 kilometers per hour, and find the brakes to help the severity of a collision with a slightly higher rate.

Saab 9 4X Compact SUV Renderings

9 4X 101 Saab 9 4X Compact SUV Renderings
Our little chit-chat with a Saab PR last week wasn’t only about the facelifted 9-3 that’s coming this fall with a new AWD version fitted with a 290Hp 2.8 V6 Turbo engine, as we also learned that Saab will debut its first-ever compact SUV, the 9-4X

Although not officialy confirmed, it’s rumored that Saab’s 9-4X will be based on the next-gen Opel Vectra / Saab 9-3 / Cadillac BLX platform. Talking about Cadillac, the American car-maker will also produce their versions of the Saab 9-4X, both of whom will compete against the likes of BMW’s X3 and the upcoming Mercedes MLK, Volvo XC60 & Audi Q5 SUV’s. Back to Saab, GM’s Swedish-arm will probably tease us with a prototype version of the 9-4X in the upcoming months but until then; check out a bunch of computer-generated renderings from the swedish mag, Teknikens Varld

GM recalls select 2011 model year pickup and SUV models over axle fears

01 2011 gmc sierra630opt 450x281 GM recalls select 2011 model year pickup and SUV models over axle fears
General Motors is recalling a handful light-duty GMT900 pickups from the 2011 model year due to faulty rear axle cross pins. Both the Chevrolet Avalanche and Silverado 1500 are effected, as are the Cadillac Escalade EXT and GMC Sierra 1500 – a total of 1,262 vehicles in all.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration cites that these rear axle cross pins were not manufactured up to proper specification and that the pin could “fracture and become displaced within the rear axle.” NHTSA further details the consequences of a displaced pin, saying:
“The driver may hear a banging noise coming from the axle. If the pin shifts out of position, it could create an interference condition and cause the rear axle to lock. The driver may not be able to maintain directional control of the vehicle and a crash could occur without prior warning.”

GM will begin notifying owners about this problem in January, and dealers will install a new rear axle cross pin without any cost to the customer. NHTSA’s official statement is available after the jump
