2011 Volvo S60 Review

volvo s60
Volvo S60
Volvo S60 sedan is definitely an entry-level high class or a compact executive vehicle of Sweden cars. The 2011 Volvo S60 is different from anything the car maker has made previously, this new automobile comes with a stylish design, dynamic driving properties, innovative technologies and as you’d expect from Volvo ground breaking safety standards. This Volvo automobile is a rather beautiful vehicle in the metal.

The S60 T6 comes with all-wheel drive, a sport-tuned suspension, 18-inch alloy wheels, front sport seats (eight-way power with memory settings for the driver), leather upholstery, aluminum interior trim, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, Bluetooth and an eight-speaker audio system with a single-CD player, satellite radio, HD radio, an iPod/USB interface and an auxiliary audio jack.

The Climate package adds heated front seats, heated windshield washer jets, rain-sensing wipers and an interior air quality system, while the Technology package includes adaptive cruise control, collision warning with auto brake, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning and driver alert control.

Individual options include the FOUR-C adaptive suspension, a more compliant "Touring" suspension (no extra charge), 17-inch wheels, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot alert, keyless ignition/entry and a rear-seat entertainment system with dual display screens.

The 2011 Volvo S60 T6 has a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder that makes 300 hp and 325 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission with sport and manual shift modes is standard, as is all-wheel drive.

Upholding Volvos sterling reputation for passenger protection, the 2011 S60 T6 comes loaded with standard safety features that include antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, whiplash-reducing front head restraints and City Safety. Optional (via the Technology package) is Volvos new pedestrian detection feature, which can apply full braking force (reducing speed by as much as 22 mph) to help you avoid hitting pedestrians who are at least 31 inches in height. This package also includes adaptive cruise control and a lane departure warning system. Other safety options include front and rear parking sensors and a side blind spot warning system.

the Volvo S60 has returned, and Volvo is calling it the sportiest Volvo ever. Reviewers enjoy the newfound emphasis on sport in the redesigned 2011 Volvo S60. Most consumers will enjoy the S60’s balance between sport, style, comfort and safety. If you want comfort, Volvo has you covered. Reviewers praise the comfortable front seats.

If you want a car that focuses mainly on sporty driving, be sure to check out the BMW 3-Series. It starts at $31,450 and comes equipped with a fuel-efficient 211-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive, though all-wheel drive is optional. According to the EPA at 25 miles-per-gallon combined the front-wheel drive A4 tops the 21 mpg combined Volvo.

Those seriously interested in sporty driving will enjoy the S4’s extra power, six-speed manual transmission and available seven-speed automated manual transmission, and rear biased all-wheel drive system.

The 2011 Volvo S60 is available with either a performance-oriented dynamic suspension, or a comfort suspension. For $750 you can add Volvo’s FOUR-C active chassis which gives drivers three suspension settings to choose from: Comfort, Sport or Advanced.

2011 Volvo XC60 SUV Review

Volvo XC60
Volvo XC60
Volvo XC60 is a new small SUV crossover that competes with the above articles, such as the Lexus RX, Cadillac SRX and the Mercedes GLK. Developed by a naturally aspirated or turbocharged six-cylinder engine, the XC60 is available with a large number of securities, such as the collision warning and lane change alert.

The XC60 is a handsome machine. It has an exterior that is elegant and organic in some corners, like the S60 sedan, which was designed by the same team, but is a little more pulled the reins - and formal. Especially from the side, where a series of crosses in this class, both as a station wagon on stilts squatting or something long faux-resistant Ute’s, the design of the XC60 is smooth and consistent, with shoulders that arises almost from headlights to taillights. The great "iron brand logo and the great grill to complete the slightly sportier look."

The XC60 is immediately recognizable as a Volvo SUV thanks to your great Grill, which is similar to that used by his older brother, the XC90. Despite this similarity, the XC60 is thinner in its entirety and has some unique design elements, such as the angular lighting, more just inside the large headlights. Minimum distance to the ground is a large 9.1 inches.

XC60 3.2 and 3.2 R-Design models are powered by a 3.2 liter six-cylinder in line, 240 HP and 236 lb-ft of torque. Volvo also offers a version of these elegant PZEV emission certification requirements, but it is rated at 230 horsepower. Front-wheel drive is standard, and the four wheel drive is optional.

The T6 in all drive wheels and T6 R-Design models get a 3.0 liter turbocharged six-cylinder in line of maximum power to 300 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. All have an automatic XC60s of six-speed manual shift control. In Edmunds testing, one year XC60 T6 last is the least powerful engine sprint from zero to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds that is a good song for this segment. Estimated EPA fuel economy it is a solid 18 mpg city/25 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined for the XC60 3.2 FWD, while the T6 model is reduced to a less impressive 17/22/19.

The 2011 Volvo XC60 has impressive ratings in crash tests, along with a robust set of features of high technology that would only serve to help prevent an accident in the first place. One of these features for the first time in the XC60 is characteristic of City Safety, an object or a person on the road can identify and lead to a complete stop at a speed of up to 9 kilometers per hour, and find the brakes to help the severity of a collision with a slightly higher rate.

2011 Volvo S80 Review

Volvo S80
Volvo S80
The 2011 Volvo S80 remains the flagship of Volvos sedan lineup, a model that the brand priorities of comfort, safety and technology showcase, but also a distinctly different view of the interior.

From three meters, the S80 is nothing special to watch. The relatively wide metal - it is a large sedan - show only the most minimal of character lines, curves, or undulations.

Simply put: it is a very conservative design. Within liven things a little, with the unique waterfall center console design that puts controls on a thin panel, leaving space behind for storage of valuables. The dashboard itself is very nice too, with high-end wood, metal, and high performance plastics that are part of the design.

The front-wheel-drive 2011 Volvo S80 3.2 is powered by a 3.2-liter inline-6, 240 hp and 236 pound-feet of torque produced. Mated to a six-speed automatic, fuel economy is 19 mpg city/27 mpg highway and 22 mpg combined.

The AWD S80 T6 has a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 producing 300 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a six-speed automatic, fuel economy is 18 mpg city/26 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined.

The S80 feels more overtly stylish inside, where a version of Volvos floating center console at its best, which is a thin center console that a high-end audio system seems, including additional storage space, just behind for smaller items. Materials are top-notch, and the caliber of the traditional luxury cars in recent years, including chrome finish and real wood with new Silk-metal inlays and door panel stitching added last year and they bring a nice contrast with an interior that is basically a bit stark and Scandinavian.

Volvo has a very strong safety heritage, and S80 in particular has an excellent track record goes back many years. For 2011, the S80 continues to seek safety as one of the full-size sedan choices.

The 2011 S80 gets top "good" ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in frontal, side and rear impact, and a good rating in the new roof strength test; these meters are still in the protection of a rollover. It is not, though, are reviewed by the federal government.

The 2011 Volvo S80 comes standard with ABS disc brakes, front seat side airbags (with separate rooms for chest and hip protection), side curtain airbags, anti-whiplash front head restraints and seat belt tensioner in all five positions.
