Well if you noticed the sound that the keys are making is the contact from your fingers that is so fast its striking the key really hard, even try moving slowly and pressing a key, its silent! even the space bar! wear lint free gloves if you want your keyboard to be silent, thats what i do.. The typing sound should be noticeably quieter after installing windows 8.1 update. since key press volume can vary widely depending on hardware, the change may result in the key press sound being too quiet for some users to hear. we really appreciate your feedback on windows features and appreciate hearing what you think could be improved..
This won’t absolutely silence your keyboard (calling the o-rings silencers is a misnomer), but it will reduce the sound of a loud mechanical keyboard down to a similar volume as a much quieter rubber dome keyboard.. I don't think there is much you can do for your existing keyboard, but you can certainly get a quieter keyboard with a good key feel. in the last few years the options have multiplied significantly. i love my ibm model m, but for a quiet keyboard, i really like apple's current aluminum keyboards. nice crisp key feel but very quiet.. Easily make any mouse quite. remove all the screws. lift up on the tabs to remove the cover drone the buttons. cut thin stops of electrical tape. place tap over the top of the conductive metal. make sue the tape is under the back tab..
