Citroen Tubik Concept

This odd looking toaster on wheels is the Tubik Concept. The word Tubik came from the word “TUB”, the nickname of Citroen’s WW2 era delivery van. If you know how TUB and his son look like (Google Citroen H Van), you’ll understand why the Citroen Tubik has such a snout and a separate head – the old timers look quite cute as well!

Each seat is independent for maximum comfort. The first row of seats lets two people sit facing the road or facing the other passengers.
Passengers become spectators here, directed to the large multimedia screen in a semi-reclined position.

The Multicity project is the result of the studies by Citroen on mobility. Measuring 4.80m long, 2.08m wide and 205m long, the Citroen Tubik can carry up to nine passengers. The Citroen Tubik is the next phase of Multicity with a new solution, a concept car design to make travel meaningful again, offering a lounge-style cocoon to offer high levels of comfort.

The first row of seats allows passengers to either sit face to face or face the road. The Citroen Tubik will be powered by Citroens Hybrid4 technology; a full-hybrid diesel drivetrain with optimized aerodynamics will mean the Tubik retains CO2 emissions comparable to a saloon. The Citroen Tubik can be lowered automatically for improved aerodynamics, reducing both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Inspired by Citroen’s renowned Type H or ‘TUB’ van (TUB is from the French acronym for low FWD commercial vehicle), Tubik is a 9-seater packed with technology. Striking both inside and out, Tubik boasts distinctive styling with colors and materials designed to meet the highest standards.

To make travel enjoyable for its passengers, Tubik incorporates a lounge-style cocoon dedicated to comfort and relaxation. The van is powered by Citroen’s Hybrid4 technology. The huge cabin door opens upwards and incorporates the entire side of the vehicle.

Citroen Tubik creates a high-tech world around the driving position, an area dominated by what the designers call the ‘cyclotron’ - a module that groups the seat, pedal assembly, steering wheel and curved head-up display in one circular form.

Citroen DS3 Cabrio Pictures leaked before the Paris Motor Show

Citroen DS3 Cabrio
Citroen DS3 Cabrio: Pictures leaked before the Paris Motor Show. Expected and was completed about a month before its official launch takes place in the Paris Motor Show 2012, the French manufacturer has decided to publish the official pictures of the Citroen DS3 Cabrio coveted. Through these images we can finally know what that sliding canvas roof chosen as a solution to let light and air in the passenger compartment. An original proposal, but that does not change one iota the outward appearance of the car, one of the most attractive markets. Something that not only believe us, if not to endorse the results you are getting.

Despite what its name says, the fact is that this is not a true convertible. The Citroen DS3 will have the opportunity to pick up that canvas roof, exposing the inside, but keeps the lateral arches, a piece removed in conventional rafters, for which no solution has been chosen in this case. Those responsible for the firm have decided not to gamble and keep the same car design, without changing any structural element.

Sliding canvas roof
as already sensed by any of the leaked spy photos of the Citroen DS3 Cabrio, also known as AirFlow, to discover inside the car and get that feeling of freedom and sought contact with air, it will collect the canvas roof towards the back. A technique similar to that offered by the Fiat 500C and even featuring the Citroen C3 Pluriel. For now, we ignore the time needed to collect the ceiling or steps to complete.

What we can know through these images is that the roof will be collected on the rear windows, which have a significant reduction in visibility. That final position after removing the roof, forcing down the rear spoiler, which happens to be at the waistline of the car in case the roof to collect the maximum position. There is however a middle ground, where he discovered only the roof, keeping its original place and leaving the eaves discovered the rear. In the photos you can see in detail the differences between these two positions.

More light and air contact
those are the two main consequences of the withdrawal of the canvas roof and the main differences to wield in case you have to argue for the Citroen DS3 Cabrio regarding end peers. That sense of freedom offered by the air contact is a very appreciated and may end decanting the buyer for this model. A model on the other, as already mentioned, is identical to the rest of his teammates, keeping design, line and mechanical options.

All this means that we are inclined to think that this is a model that will give much to talk over the next year, especially as we approach the time of warmer temperatures. Thats when we can evaluate the real potential of this Citroen DS3 Cabrio.
