2012 Volkswagen Beetle

2012 Volkswagen Beetle
2012 Volkswagen Beetle
The 2012 Volkswagen Beetle will be fully redesigned. Then there was the vehicle sequel, the 1998 New Beetle. Now for 2012, theres finally a new Beetle to replace the New VW Beetle, though it will just be called the Beetle. With the 2012 Beetle, Volkswagen has taken a cautious approach in terms of design. The new Beetle coupe is 3.3 inches wider and 6 inches longer than the outgoing model. Inside, VW has drawn upon elements from the original Beetle, such as incorporating two glove boxes.

Later in the model year the Beetle TDI will debut, boasting VWs clean and thrifty (estimated at 40 mpg for highway fuel mileage), 140-hp turbo diesel engine. An all-new 2012 Beetle goes on sale this fall. The "2012 Beetle" was revealed at Aprils New York International Auto Show.

The Volkswagen Beetle is all grown up. The 2012 Volkswagen Beetle has updated lines evoking those of its Audi TT cousin, including a lower roofline, integrated spoiler and LED-ringed headlamps. Also ditched is the "New" part of the Beetle name. Volkswagen of America now refers to it as the 2012 Volkswagen Beetle.

Three engines will be available on the 2012 Beetle. Volkswagens 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine makes 170 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, and is mated to either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0-liter, four-cylinder TDI diesel engine produces 140 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. The TDI powertrain is expected to achieve 40 mpg highway, 29 mpg city and 33 mpg combined. The 2012 Volkswagen Beetle will be available in late September or early October 2011.

In 1998, the New Beetle was launched at the Detroit auto show. The car was as cheerful as VWs dealers, who finally had a car delivered to their lots that they could sell for way over sticker.

Beetle production will continue to take place at VWs Puebla, Mexico, plant, alongside the 2011 Jetta.
The front end draws from the horizontal lines that characterize VWs current portfolio—without abandoning the trademark round headlights, of course. Powertrain for this front-driver will come from VWs vast parts bin, with the naturally aspirated, 115-hp, 2.0-liter four likely serving as the entry-level engine for the U.S.
market. This platforms possibilities are virtually limitless: There could be an R version with some 270 hp, a return of a TDI model, all-wheel-drive versions, or a hybrid. While the entry-level Beetle will likely keep its Aisin-designed automatic, the turbocharged models will get VWs dual-clutch automated manual transmissions.

VW Beetle convertible of the future

Beetle Convertible
Substituting the VW Beetle to the shears, the fussy Rounding turned into an emotional dream car. The e-Bugster is only one study. But more behind it.

Volkswagen wants to be more emotional. As the next generation of Beetle Convertible comes in handy. If the open end of the year Beetle in Los Angeles and its debut is the beginning of 2013 goes on sale, are all dreaming of sun a second open version. A speedster in the bodywork of the Volkswagen Beetle seems to be no spinning. As an electric version, there is even a single piece.

Sun masculine VW Beetle youve seen one before. Brawny aprons, LED daytime running hook as well as a sizable rear spoiler, shoulder high, the flat roof line - impress a sports car. The flared wheel arches make the VW E-Bugster three inches wider than the later model Beetle series, the frame of the windshield and was cut off six inches by four and reduces the tendency to almost 55 degrees. So the whole thing looks sportier, the drivers seat has been lowered by an inch. The idea of a Bugster is not for this new Volkswagen. Seven years ago, the last generation VW Beetle was already cut and trimmed on one sport. The VW fans cheered, but the remained a fair dream. "Back then we were in the model cycle of the beetle too late," says project manager Dzemal Sjenar, "which was not profitable anymore."

But could the VW E-Bugster is more than a design concept that could lead to a remarkable body variant. The Wolfsburg want to show how much the electric drive is the focus of many developments. For instance the bright white single piece of e-Bugster by an electric actuator which is connected with the coming of the electric golf almost identical. The E-module delivers 115 hp and maximum torque of 270 Nm. Thus, the prototype will be slowed down to business and peppy hums merrily up the hill. With the comfort of the individual piece, it is not far away in spite of ordinary processing. The 20-inch model in the retro look of the legendary fox rim may look great; the innovators do, however, unusually hard.

"The battery system of theVW E-Bugster is opposite the golf changed somewhat. The cell package is shorter and higher. It is only behind the seats to get the trunk remains," said Dzemal Sjenar the 200-pound powerhouse that the electric car a total of bringing 1.4 tons. The additional weight over the rear axle makes the e-Bugster even sportier, because the weight distribution is better than the Nitro. Six months have Sjenar and a dozen team of experimental construction, design and handicrafts to drive the prototype.

Inside, the E-Bugster some nice surprises. Catcher is the electrical pulse, which travels at the start of the electric ignition by the enigmatic white design of the dashboard panels. Worth and through forward to reality the large TFT screen that can operate across the various vehicle functions. The controls for air conditioning a bit deeper and heated seat are no less exciting. Of course, the usual round watches VW Beetle in the cockpit were replaced by animated cast information. Lets hope that Volkswagen is brave enough to build the VW Bugster not only as individual pieces.

The electric motor can even be left out. Emotional would mark the Bugster in each case. It would at least be an important step in the right direction. A corresponding series motorized version with a powerful turbo direct injection engine should cost about 30,000 €.
